Render Quality Metrics (RQM) FFmpeg

RQM FFmpeg is an app that makes use of FFmpeg for computing measures of render quality by comparing a rendered file to a reference file.  Three traditional metrics of image quality are produced: mean-squared error (MSE),  peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and the structural similarity index metric (SSIM).  Additionally,  the newer Netflix-developed Video Multimethod Assessment Fusion (VMAF) metric may also be computed.

Special Requirements:

Download and unzip “” to any location.  Note that all three files must be in the same folder.  The user must install FFmpeg and the executable “ffmpeg.exe” must be in the Path of the User Environment Variables.  Another option is to install the full version of HappyOtterScripts (version or later) and select the FREE license.  Note that the ffmpeg version must include the VMAF library “libvmaf”.  The latest build (4.3)  of the Zeranoe FFmpeg Builds already has that library and is recommended.
